The festivals aim is to connect Ireland and Ibero-American countries celebrating and bridging their film culture and giving a networking space to producers where they can blend their magic.
Both festival accept film submissions from independent filmmkers.
The festivals are coordinated by the Irish Indie Film Foundation, the IFFS is part of the programming of IFI international.
The festivals are supported by Instituto Cervantes, Accion Cultural Española, Arts Council, ICAA, Screen Ireland, Culture Ireland, the Embassy of Spain in Ireland and the Embassy of Ireland in Spain.
The Ibero-American Film Festival Ireland is a celebration of the cultural diversity and cinematic artistry of Ibero-American countries, providing a unique platform for audiences in Ireland to experience films these regions.
Its very successful first edition took place in Dublin in April 2025. The festival is now relocated to Galway (UNESCO city of film).

This year as part of the 73th edition of SSIFF we have organized a Co-Production session with focus on opportunities between Ireland and Ibero-America, with a special emphasis on collaboration between Ireland and Spain.
The event includes institutional presentations and one-to-one speed meetings between producers and key decision-makers.
